At Newbury Velo we aim to inspire all cyclists from beginner to pro, child to adult, whatever their ability. We have a number of British Cycling qualified coaches who can help you and your children ride safely, and effectively and, for those who want it, faster! All our coaches have had an advanced DBS check and are qualified first aiders.
Our coaching facility is based on Henwick Playing Fields and we offer a range of coaching options to children aged 5-12 on a Tuesday evening from 18:15-19:30. The groups are as follows:

Owls: Children who are just starting on their post-stabiliser cycling journey. Often ride bikes with a single gear and tend to be our youngest. |

Buzzards: Our improver group and consists of those who can ride a bike fairly competently and want to develop their skills a little further. |

Eagles: Our most advanced group which teaches more difficult skills and offers a pathway to racing (for those who are interested). |
If you are interested in your children joining the coaching sessions (whether a member or not) please email the club secretary, Rachael Elliott, on secretary@newburyvelo.cc
We offer ad-hoc road and off-road training for adults. In addition, our "Mochaccino" rides on Sunday also run as "special" shorter distance rides on some weeks so novices can come along and experience group riding at their own pace with an experienced ride leader. For more information on adult coaching, please email the club secretary, Rachael Elliott, on secretary@newburyvelo.cc.
Newbury Velo has a number of trained coaches and riders who specialise in offering cycling for those with additional needs. The club also owns five tandems which are specifically for use for those who cannot ride a bike without support (e.g. blind or visually impaired people. those with special educational needs or those with extra physical needs). For more information on cycling for those with additional, please email the club secretary, Rachael Elliott, on secretary@newburyvelo.cc.
