Another beautiful bank holiday weekend is in store, and another weekend where the country remains in partial lockdown. Do you do the same country walk again? Do you battle with the supermarket and queue for hours to buy goodies for a family picnic? Or do you rope the unwilling children in to help give the shed the lick of paint that’s 20 years overdue?
We’re pleased to inform you that there’s a WHOLE LOT MORE FUN in store for all the family this weekend! We’re pleased to announce the first of our Newbury Velo Family Quests!
The Family Quests follow a shorter route than the familiar Velo Quests, but offer an enchanting route to discover in the local countryside for all the family. A printable version of the Family Quest is available to print out, and all routes start at a point where it is safe to park your car in a socially-distanced environment. Children can solve the riddles at points throughout the loop and we want to see as many photos published as possible on our Facebook page. All families who take part in each Family Quest will be put into a draw to win a Newbury Velo water bottle.
This bank holiday weekend Family Quest starts and finishes in the beautiful Snelsmore Common, follows trails to the picturesque village of Bagnor follows the mystical tree tunnel out towards Boxford. After wending their way back to Bagnor, riders follow the winding valley up the Honeybottom and up to the spectacular views of Winterbourne before heading back to Snelsmore.
For families with younger children who may not be able to complete the whole loop, we invite you to complete as much or as little as possible. Emphasis is on fun and enjoying the stunning scenery of our area.
We look forward to seeing your pictures!
